These Amole Bet football betting rules explain how football bets may be settled for pre-match and live events in Ethiopia. Before placing a bet, check the market name, the time period covered, the match status, the displayed odds, and any special conditions shown in your bet slip. Most football markets use the result after 90 minutes plus referee-added stoppage time, but some markets include extra time or a penalty shootout. Where a specific market description differs from this general guide, the conditions displayed for that market apply.

Amole Bet aims to settle football bets according to published market rules and official event data. For full contractual rules, please review the Terms and Conditions.

Football betting rules at Amole Bet

Football bet settlement depends on the market you select. Terms such as full time, 90 minutes, including extra time, to qualify, and outright winner can have different meanings. Read the selection carefully before confirming your stake.

In football betting, added time or stoppage time is the time added by the referee at the end of each half. It is part of the standard 90-minute match period. Extra time is a separate period played after normal time in certain knockout matches. A penalty shootout is used, where applicable, to decide which team progresses after a draw.

Standard settlement time: 90 minutes

For most football markets, settlement is based on 90 minutes of play plus referee-added stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shootouts are not included unless the market name or its specific rules clearly say otherwise.

This standard usually applies to common 90 minutes football betting markets, including:

  • Match Result / 1X2: home win, draw, or away win after normal time.
  • Double Chance: two possible outcomes based on the result after normal time.
  • Total Goals: goals scored during normal time and stoppage time only.
  • Handicap: the adjusted score based on the result after normal time.
  • Both Teams to Score: whether both teams score within normal time.

For example, if a match is 1-1 after 90 minutes and one team wins during extra time, a 1X2 bet on that team is normally lost when the selected market is “90 minutes.” The later goal does not change the normal-time match result.

When extra time counts

Extra time football betting applies only when the market clearly includes it. Look for wording such as “including extra time,” “to qualify,” “winner of tie,” “team to lift the trophy,” or “outright winner.” These markets may be settled after the final outcome of the knockout event rather than after 90 minutes.

A “To Qualify” selection can include extra time and a penalty shootout if this is stated in the market rules. An outright winner market may also follow the official competition outcome. This is different from a standard Match Result market, which is normally settled on the score at the end of normal time.

Do not assume that extra time is included simply because a match is part of a cup or knockout competition. Check the market title and available market conditions in your bet slip.

How penalties are settled

A penalty awarded during a match is a normal in-play event. If it is converted, it may count as a goal for markets that include that period of play. For example, a penalty scored in normal time may count toward a normal-time Total Goals market.

A penalty shootout is different. Shootout kicks are used to decide a winner after a drawn match and usually do not count as goals for 90-minute match result, total goals, handicap, or both teams to score markets. The shootout result may count for a “To Qualify,” trophy, or other market that expressly includes it.

  • A penalty during the match is not the same as a penalty shootout.
  • Shootout goals usually do not increase the match total goals score.
  • A shootout may decide qualification or an outright market where the relevant rules include it.

Cancelled, postponed and abandoned matches

A cancelled football match bet, postponed football match betting selection, or abandoned event may be handled differently depending on the market and the applicable Amole Bet rules. The final treatment can depend on whether the event started, whether it was completed within the relevant settlement period, and whether the outcome of a particular market had already been determined.

  • Cancelled before kick-off: a bet may be void if the event does not take place, subject to the applicable rules.
  • Postponed before kick-off: the bet may remain open or be voided depending on the rescheduled time and market conditions.
  • Abandoned after kick-off: bets may be void if the match is not completed within the stated period, except where a market outcome was already unambiguously determined before the interruption.
  • Match completed later: settlement may use the official result where the event is resumed or replayed within the relevant rule period.
  • Official result corrected: settlement may be reviewed in line with the applicable terms and official data source.
  • Incorrect event details: a market listed with a material error in teams, date, competition, or market type may be corrected, cancelled, or voided under the relevant rules.

A void bet normally means that the stake is returned and the selection is settled at odds of 1.00. It does not automatically mean that every affected bet will be void. Check the market-specific rules and the Terms and Conditions for the policy that applies.

Live football betting settlement

Live football betting rules reflect the fast-changing nature of an event. Odds can move quickly after a goal, red card, penalty, VAR review, dangerous attack, substitution, or other important match action. A market may be suspended temporarily while data is checked.

When using Amole Bet live, a submitted bet may be accepted after a short delay, offered at updated odds, or rejected if the price or market status changes before confirmation. A bet is not final merely because it has been selected; check that it appears as accepted in your bet history or bet slip.

Live market information can be delayed or corrected. Live displays are provided for convenience and should not be treated as the sole official record of an event. Settlement is based on the relevant official event data and applicable market rules.

Odds changes and bet confirmation

A football odds change can happen at any time before a bet is accepted. If the odds change while your request is being processed, the system may show a new price for your approval or reject the request. The odds become final only when the bet is confirmed as accepted.

Before confirming any football bet, review your bet slip for:

  • the selected match and market;
  • the odds currently offered;
  • the stake and possible return shown;
  • the settlement period, such as 90 minutes or including extra time;
  • any special market conditions.

This is especially important for live bets, where market suspension and odds movement may occur within seconds.

VAR, official data and result corrections

Video Assistant Referee decisions can affect goals, penalties, red cards, and other football events. During a VAR review, markets may be suspended until the incident is confirmed or overturned. A goal shown temporarily in a live feed may not count if it is later disallowed by the referee.

Football bet settlement is based on confirmed official data under the applicable Amole Bet rules. If an official source corrects a result, statistic, scorer, card, or other event after initial settlement, Amole Bet may handle the correction in accordance with its published rules. If you need clarification about a settled bet, keep the bet reference and contact support through Contact Us.

Player, cards and corners markets

Player, cards, and corners markets can have additional conditions. Always check the specific market rules before placing a bet.

  • Player markets: a player selection may be void if the player does not take part, where the market rules provide for this.
  • Goalscorer markets: own goals are generally not credited as goals scored by the selected player unless the market rules state otherwise.
  • Cards markets: the treatment of cards shown to players, substitutes, coaches, or other team staff depends on the individual market conditions.
  • Corners markets: only corners officially awarded and recognised in the match statistics may be counted. A corner that is not taken or is later corrected may not count.

Statistics providers, live commentary, and broadcast graphics may differ temporarily. The market rules and official settlement data take priority.

Examples of football bet settlement

Scenario Settlement
A match is 1-1 after 90 minutes. Team A scores in extra time. A 1X2 bet on Team A loses if the market was settled on 90 minutes.
A match ends 0-0 after normal time. Team B wins the penalty shootout. A Total Goals Over 0.5 bet for 90 minutes loses because shootout kicks are not normal match goals.
A match is cancelled before kick-off. The bet may be void, subject to the applicable cancellation and postponement rules.
A live bet is submitted while a goal is under VAR review. The bet may wait for confirmation, be accepted at revised odds, or be rejected if the market changes.
A “Team A To Qualify” market states that extra time and penalties are included. Team A can be settled as the winner if it progresses after extra time or a penalty shootout.

Responsible football betting

Football betting should be entertainment, not a way to make money or solve financial problems. Consider setting limits, taking breaks, or using self-exclusion tools if betting no longer feels manageable. Visit Responsible Gaming for available support and safer play information.
